Scary movies

"Ok, Spock. My friends are coming over in an hour and you're not going to bug us, got it?"

He arched an eyebrow, "Me bother you? Wouldn't it be just the opposite?"

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever. We're going to be downstairs watching movies, you can hang out upstairs."
"How nice."

"Isn't it? Now go away."

He shrugged and went upstairs.

I finished straightening the living room just before the doorbell rang. I ran to open the door, "Hey-" I paused, "'Kirk? What are you doing here?"

The blonde young man gave me one of his teasing smiles, "That isn't a very nice hello. Aren't you going to invite me in?"

"Sure..." I held the door open so he could walk in.

"Thanks," he walked in and looked around.

Spock came down the stairs, with the apparent air of someone hiding something.

"Hey, Spock! I got your message." Kirk grinned.

"What message?" I asked, thoroughly confused.

"It doesn't concern you." Spock told me, "Besides, we are 'not to bother you', correct?"

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Then we won't."

They turned and headed up the stairs.

"You guys better not be planning anything! Spock, you hear me? Don't listen to Kirk and his wild ideas!"

Spock grinned before closing the door.

I rolled my eyes, sighing. But then the doorbell rang again and I pushed Kirk and Spock out my mind.

The house was soon filled with the noise of happy chattering as my friends came in.

"What should we watch first?" I asked as soon as everyone was seated.

"Something scary!" Megan shouted.

"Any objections?" I questioned.

No answer.

"Ok, scary movie it is." I searched through the piles of DVDs before finding one and putting it in.

We dimmed the lights and were watching the commercials when I heard voices from upstairs.  Kirk and Spock were talking about something. Kirk sounded incredibly amused.

"Oooh, whose that?" Katie asked me, giving me a sly smile.

"My obnoxious friend and some buddy of his. I don't know what they're doing."

"Is this same friend the one I met before? With the oh- so- serious look?"

"Yeah, that would be him."

"And his friend?"

"What about him?"

"Is he cute?"

"I guess so. He's just Kirk."

My friend's giggled, their eyes darting to the door.

"Sh! Let's watch the movie!" I interjected, "We can go bug them later."

They quieted down as the movie began. Leaning forward slightly as the creepy music played and the plot deepened.
